What a crazy week it's been! It's nice to have a day "off" to catch up on some things, including finally watching the Project Runway finale (so glad Michelle won!!), and posting the last of my photos from Nashville Fashion Week.  NFW wrapped up with it's Emerging Designer Night, featuring collections from both local and international designers. I have to say, ahem, while being as nice as possible, that this was my least favorite night of NFW--not because the fashion was sub-par by any means, but because the venue, the setup, and the concept of the night was not the most favorable to getting good photos.  Hey, just being honest. But that's all I'm going to say about that.

I was really impressed by the level of talent represented on Emerging Designer Night. The collections were great and I can't wait to see more from these designers in the future. And, of course, it was super-cool to have Mychael Knight of Project Runway (who served as a mentor for the emerging designers) as a special guest.

It's a quiet, peaceful Sunday evening (technically Monday morning), I've had a long, busy weekend with a busy week ahead, and I'm totally exhausted. But I'm wide awake. At 1:30 in the morning. I know right now that I have exactly 4 hours and 38 minutes before my alarm will go off, and although that makes me incredibly anxious, I just can't seem to sleep. So I thought I'd catch up on blogging. Just an FYI, I'm working on another film right now, so be prepared for an erratic blog schedule for the next few weeks. Let's just hope we don't keep meeting at these hours of the night...or morning.

Anyway, I still have plenty of photos left from Nashville Fashion Week that I haven't shared, so for your viewing pleasure, and without any boring commentary from me for once, here are some of my faves from Night 4 of NFW.

On with the shows! I wasn't able to attend the Wednesday night shows at the Trolley Barns at Rolling Mill Hill due to an obligation on, ahem, a popular network tv show shooting here in town...but I hear they were beautiful, and chilly! The weather here in Nashville can be a bit unpredictable this time of year, and it wasn't exactly cooperating with the outdoor venue for Night 2. Since I wasn't present to give you a firsthand account of Night 2, we are going to jump right ahead to Day 3. It was another cool, rainy day for the daytime runway shows on Thursday at the beautiful, historic Belmont Mansion. This venue was the perfect location to showcase the gorgeous designs from Modern Trousseau and Memeka by Gustavo Cadile.

It was my first time in the Belmont Mansion, and I loved the ambiance of this location--the grand staircase, the piano music, the amazing designer gowns. It was very well done.  What can I say about these collections? The dresses pretty much speak for themselves, so I'll spare you my commentary and let you form your own opinions about these collections.

Time to catch back up on my reviews of Nashville Fashion Week...guys, seriously, I've seen so much fashion in the past week that it's almost overwhelming! Get excited, because I have TONS of photos for you...it just may take me a month to get them all posted. Ok, so let's talk a little more about Night 1 held at the beautiful Pinnacle Building in downtown Nashville. You've seen the photos of the two collections presented by Tracy Reese, but that was only the beginning of the night. Next on the runway was a designer familiar to Nashville Fashion Week, Cally Rieman, whose line "Kal Rieman" was also featured during last year's Nashville Fashion Week, ironically at the Pinnacle Building then as well. Rieman's strong menswear background is evident in her Kal Rieman line, bringing a sense of power and a masculine edge to the womenswear collection. I also love the vintage influences seen in the silhouettes, fabrication, and color palette as well.

I was happy to hear that one of my personal favorites from last year, Red Doll, would be showing again this year as well. I love the youthfulness and femininity of this line, and absolutely wish that I had all of it in my closet. Give me some ruffles and flowy fabrics and I'm on board!

The evening wrapped with Nonoo, the line by internationally acclaimed designer, Mischa Nonoo, which transported us to the Disney Cold-War version of Communist Russia.  Literally, there was what sounded like Disney music playing as the models walked the runway in black fur hats, shawls, and fur-collared military-inspired jackets, and a mostly muted color palette that was accentuated with pops of shockingly bold red (and a little blue).
