Off to the Races!

Put away your Easter bonnets and break out your Derby hats! The Kentucky Derby is only days away and Nashville’s annual Iroquois Steeplechase is rapidly approaching, and if you’re a lady attending one of these events, you know, of course, that it’s not about the horses. It’s about the hats. Whether you're into the classic or the crazy, the hats always seem to steal a little of the spotlight.  Honestly, whether or not Seabiscuit wins is just a minor detail. (Sorry for my limited knowledge on race horse names!)

If you haven’t found that perfect fascinator yet, don’t worry. There’s still time to shop. But choose carefully! You DON’T want to end up with the same hat as someone else. It’s like a prom dress. And we all know how awkward that moment can be...

I had a chance on Sunday to check out the selection at Designer Finds in Green Hills during their anniversary celebration and I even played a little dress up while I was there. But I wasn’t the only one. Some of the customers showed off their personal flair as well for a street style photo shoot with Mr. Snappylifestyle himself, Adrian Morales. Even the lovely Alicia Boswell of Nashville Fashion Events joined in the fun.  And Mrs. Snappylifestyle too!  Check it out:

(Thanks to Adrian Morales of snappylifestyle.com for the photos!)

While these weren’t necessrily all Derby looks, it was just a small selection of what Designer Finds has to offer. If you’re still in the market for a hat for the big race, put it at the top of your list!

I also scoured the internet for some of the most bizarre Derby hats from the past, and I have to say, the Brits might have some crazy hats, but they ain't got nothin' on these:

Enjoy the races!  Until next time...
